Sierra Vista... good for the soul
our week in Sierra Vista was incredible. everything about it was necessary and divinely timed. shared meals, hikes, kite flying, nights spent around the campfire, a trip across the border for fresh tortillas. all of it awesome.
first day trip was to Coronado National Memorial. we hiked and picnicked and tried on chainmail. (this is also where we found our tracking postcard, a huge hit!)
next up was a trip to the local riverbed to look for tracks. we found coyote, mountain lion and deer tracks down by the water.
our family took a quick trip to Bisbee one morning for coffee and a walk. I loved this. you drive right through an old copper mine called The Lavender Pit. it was gorgeous in the morning sunlight and shocking in it’s enormity.
a quick trip across the border to Naco meant fresh tortillas for lunch.
capped this trip with a slow day of kite flying, bike riding, dancing on the porch and sunsets.
[OH GOSH, in case you didn't see the post on Facebook or Instagram, I almost forgot to mention that our last night here we were locked out of our camper!! Ben and my uncle Richard had to grind down the bottom of the hinge, take out the pins, TAKE OFF THE DOOR from the hinge side, unlock it and let us in, AND put the door back on. just another part of this adventure.]
Amen.
P.S. many, many thanks for the hospitality Aunt Linda and Uncle Richard!! your space is lovely, and your generosity, overwhelming. you should really think about renting out that driveway space. *wink*
